Joshua’s Emotional Instagram Post
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Joshua expressed gratitude for the support he received during this difficult time. He wrote, “Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers. I didn’t even realize how special they are… May God have mercy on my brothers.”
His words reflect not only his deep sorrow but also an appreciation for the impact Ayodele and Ghami had on his life. Ayodele was Joshua’s personal trainer, while Ghami served as his long-time strength and conditioning coach.
Legal Proceedings Following the Incident
Nigerian authorities have charged the driver of the vehicle, 46-year-old Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, with “dangerous driving causing death.” The tragedy unfolded on a busy highway connecting Lagos and Ibadan, where the Lexus SUV carrying Joshua and his friends collided with a stationary truck.
A Personal Connection to Nigeria
At 36 years old, Joshua has deep family ties in Nigeria and had been visiting the country after his recent victory over Jake Paul on December 19 in Miami. This tragic event serves as a poignant reminder of the fleeting nature of life and the importance of cherishing our relationships.
