Singer-composer Anu Malik has recently addressed swirling rumors regarding the song "Ghar Kab Aaoge" from the upcoming film Border 2. In a statement shared on his Instagram Stories, Malik clarified that he has been credited by producer Bhushan Kumar with "immense warmth and respect."

“I would like to clarify about the song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ that Bhushan ji has already credited me with immense warmth and respect,” Malik stated.

He further emphasized, “This is a unique collaboration that I am genuinely proud of. Any reports suggesting otherwise are based on incorrect reporting. I stand by this collaboration with pride and gratitude.”

PTI Quote Sparks Debate

Malik’s comments come in response to a previous quote from PTI that ignited discussions about his and lyricist Javed Akhtar‘s involvement in the iconic song "Sandese Aate Hain" from the original Border, on which "Ghar Kab Aaoge" is based.

He remarked:

"I believe the song is recreated. I’m not a part of it. I’m sure they will give my name to it as I’ve created the song.”

Malik insisted that due credit must be acknowledged due to their significant contributions. He stated, “They should, because people know about our contribution. They can’t get away with it.”

Praise for the New Rendition

While expressing his thoughts on the new version, Malik praised the collaboration, saying:

“I think it is going to be brilliant because Sonu is a fabulous singer and Arijit is a magical singer. So, it will be a magical combination of Arijit and Sonu together, but the tune is going to be Anu Malik.”

He concluded with a reminder that his and Akhtar’s contributions remain integral to the song’s legacy.

Upcoming Film Details

Border 2 features a stellar cast, including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Diljit Dosanjh, Mona Singh, Anya Singh, and Sonam Bajwa. The war drama is set for theatrical release on January 23, 2025.
