Drone Delivery of Arms Disrupted by Security Forces in Jammu

On Friday night, a drone from Pakistan dropped a consignment of arms and ammunition in Paloora village, located in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district. This event was confirmed by local police on Saturday, highlighting ongoing security concerns along the border.

Details of the Recovery

Following a tip-off, a combined team from the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the police initiated a search operation in the Rajpura area. They successfully recovered a packet that contained:

• One Chinese HE grenade
• 16 rounds of 9mm cartridges
• One Glock pistol with a magazine
• One Star pistol with two magazines

This significant find underscores the increasing vigilance against potential threats.

Heightened Security Measures

The recovery of these arms coincides with intensified security measures aimed at preventing terrorist activities, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in India.

Previous Incidents

Earlier, on November 21, a Pakistani drone was reported flying over a forward village near the international border in Ghagwal tehsil of Samba. This prompted security forces to conduct further search operations in the area, focusing on potential narcotics or weapons airdrops.

Recent Smuggling Attempts

On October 27, the BSF thwarted a significant narcotics smuggling attempt in the Ranbir Singh Pura area of Jammu district. During this operation, security forces recovered two bags dropped by a Pakistani drone, containing over five kilograms of heroin valued at more than ₹25 crore in the international market.
