Recent documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice indicate that former President Donald Trump was a passenger on at least eight flights aboard Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet. This revelation comes from internal emails dated January 7, 2020, stating that Trump traveled on Epstein’s jet more frequently than previously reported.

Details from the Internal Email

The email, which is part of a chain focused on “Epstein flight records,” reveals a significant amount of information. The identity of both the sender and recipient has been redacted, but it was signed by an assistant U.S. attorney from the Southern District of New York.

According to the email, Trump was listed as a passenger on multiple flights between 1993 and 1996. Notably, he was on at least four flights alongside Ghislaine Maxwell—Epstein’s close associate who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for various crimes, including sex trafficking of minors.

Notable Passengers and Flights

The email specifies Trump’s companions on these flights, including Marla Maples, his daughter Tiffany, and his son Eric. It details that on one flight in 1993, only Trump and Epstein were listed as passengers. In another instance, Trump, Epstein, and a then-20-year-old passenger (whose name was redacted) were the sole occupants.

Furthermore, two flights included women who could be potential witnesses in Maxwell’s case.

Department of Justice’s Response

In light of the newly released documents, the DOJ stated that some claims against Trump found in the files are "untrue and sensationalist.” The department made it clear that if these allegations had any credibility, they would have been utilized against Trump during his presidency.

Trump and Epstein were reportedly friends for years, though Trump has asserted that their relationship deteriorated around 2004, long before Epstein’s legal troubles surfaced. Despite being on the flight records, Trump has maintained his innocence, insisting that his presence on the jets does not imply any wrongdoing.

These emails are part of a larger release of over 8,000 documents mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was passed with overwhelming support in Congress. This release aims to address years of criticism regarding delays and redactions in the handling of Epstein-related documents.

The newly made public materials include hundreds of audio and video files, along with surveillance footage from August 2019, the month Epstein was found deceased in his jail cell while facing serious sex trafficking charges.
