The Role: Financial Controller

Oceans is actively seeking ambitious candidates in Sri Lanka to step into the role of Financial Controller. This position is designed for individuals ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities of a Financial Controller

As a Financial Controller at Oceans, you will be responsible for:

• Financial Strategy Development: Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
• Performance Monitoring: Analyze financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Reporting: Provide accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and analyses to support informed decision-making across the organization.
• Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow, working capital, and risk management activities.
• Cost Efficiency: Identify areas for cost reduction and improvement, implementing appropriate measures for efficiency.
• Audit Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits while meeting all compliance requirements.
• Internal Controls: Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Team Management: Manage and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and training.

Requirements for Applicants

Essential Qualifications

• Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in English with excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in the Accounting and Finance sector; experience with a Big Four or national accounting firm is preferred.
• Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
• Educational Background: An undergraduate degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance/Accounting; related work experience is also accepted.
