Gautami Kapoor Praises Aryan Khan’s Directorial Debut in ‘The B***ds of Bollywood’

Aryan Khan’s Directorial Debut

Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, has received widespread acclaim for his directorial debut series, **’The B*ds of Bollywood’. Notably, actress Gautami Kapoor, who plays a significant role in the series, commended Aryan’s remarkable vision and maturity throughout the project.

Gautami’s First Impressions of Aryan Khan

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Gautami described her initial meeting with Aryan during a script reading session. She was keenly observing how he would handle a room filled with seasoned actors. "During the reading of the show… the clarity he had for each and every character was staggering. At just 24-25, he showcased an impressive level of maturity," she shared.

Aryan’s Command Over the Narrative

Gautami emphasized Aryan’s deep understanding of the narrative and characters, which left no doubt regarding his control over the project. She dismissed rumors about ghost directors aiding Aryan, stating, “A lot of people asked, ‘Has Aryan directed it himself or has someone ghost-directed it?’ The way he has directed it, hats off to him.”

A Hands-On Approach

Moreover, Gautami highlighted Aryan’s hands-on direction style. He often went beyond verbal instructions, physically demonstrating scenes for the cast. “So many of the stunts, he used to do it and show the actors,” she noted, underscoring his immersive involvement in the production.

A Perfectionist Behind the Lens

The actress also discussed Aryan’s uncompromising approach to quality. Gautami revealed that multiple takes were common on set, regardless of an actor’s seniority. “Aryan is a stickler for perfection. It was always 10 to 15 takes, whether it was Bobby Deol, Manoj Bawa, or anyone else,” she explained, describing the process as both intense and rewarding.

Collaborating with Bobby Deol

Sharing her experiences working alongside Bobby Deol, Gautami noted how the veteran actor responded to Aryan’s perfectionist tendencies. "Bobby is reserved and calm. He never made me feel like ‘I am the Lord Bobby Deol’. He would sometimes get a bit irritated, but Aryan’s quest for perfection was clear."

Aryan’s Upbringing and Values

Reflecting on Aryan’s character and upbringing, Gautami credited Shah Rukh Khan for instilling solid values in his son. She shared a touching anecdote about Aryan’s demeanor during her visits to Red Chillies office, stating, "Every time I see him, he hugs me and drops me to the lift."

A Personal Anecdote with Shah Rukh Khan

Gautami also recounted a memorable moment involving Shah Rukh Khan, who accompanied her daughter to the lift after a screening of the show’s first two episodes. “There was no need for him to do all that, but he still did. My daughter was trembling. There is so much to learn from these people,” Gautami concluded, emphasizing the values they embody.

With Aryan Khan’s promising debut, it is clear that he carries the legacy of his father, Shah Rukh Khan, while establishing his own distinctive mark in the industry.
