Hansika Motwani, the popular actress, recently made headlines as she addressed her divorce from businessman Sohael Khaturiya. On March 11, 2026, the couple was granted a mutual consent divorce by Mumbai’s Bandra family court, bringing their marriage, which lasted over three years, to an end. The couple had originally tied the knot in December 2022 but began living separately in July 2024 due to irreconcilable differences.
### No Alimony and Moving Forward
Despite the emotional toll of their separation, neither party sought alimony, which speaks volumes about their amicable split. While Hansika didn’t go into further detail about the divorce, she did recently share insights about her personal life and the pressures she feels from the media and society.
### ‘I Have No Regrets’
In a candid conversation with Hauterrfly, Hansika reflected on her situation, stating, “My family doesn’t pressurise me for anything. People wanted clickbait; they got it. I have never clarified it, nor will I because it doesn’t matter to me. It’s fine. I have no regrets. It’s better to get off the train if you got onto a wrong train than suffer. I have immense support from my family. So, I am very happy where I am.”
### Challenging Societal Expectations
The actress also addressed societal pressures surrounding marriage and motherhood, questioning why strict timelines are imposed on women. “I don’t know… it didn’t happen like that with me. I was never put in that box where people said, ‘you’ve reached this age, you should get married.’ Nowadays girls are so strong and independent that they do what is good for them,” she explained.
She further criticized the changing societal narrative, noting, “Earlier people used to say get married at 25; then 30; now they say 40. Who are these people? If it doesn’t feel right to you, then don’t do it. Why take that pressure?”
### Belief in Love and Self-Respect
Hansika remained optimistic about love and relationships, emphasizing that one should not lose themselves in any romantic endeavor. “Love is beautiful, and right now, I don’t know when the time is right. I think the universe will guide me. If it’s written for me, it’s written for me,” she shared. She further added, “First, you need to respect yourself, then you can respect someone else.”
