Virat Kohli’s Injury Update Ahead of IPL 2026 Match

    Training with a Strapped Knee

NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli was spotted training with his left knee heavily strapped as he prepares for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL 2026 face-off against Lucknow Super Giants at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. A video shared by LSG on their social media showed Kohli walking cautiously while also interacting with New Zealand’s cricket legend Kane Williamson, who is now a part of the LSG support staff.

    Concern for Fitness

During his last game against the Mumbai Indians, Kohli exited the field with an ankle niggle, raising questions about his availability for the upcoming match. However, his presence in the nets amidst a strapped knee has alleviated worries about his fitness for the time being. Kohli not only participated in practice but also engaged in an extended batting session, indicating his determination to be ready for the clash against LSG.

    Impressive Performance in IPL 2026

Kohli has been in excellent form during IPL 2026, scoring 179 runs in four matches at an average of 59.66 and a strike rate of 162.72. His performance includes two fifties, with his highest score being 69*. In his last outing against the Mumbai Indians, he delivered a quick-fire 50 runs off just 38 balls, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure.

    RCB’s Standings and Outlook

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru are currently placed third on the points table with six points, closely contested by four other teams, each with four points. RCB aims to leverage their strong batting line-up to secure a win against the Lucknow Super Giants and create a gap in the mid-table standings. They sit two points behind the leaders, Rajasthan Royals, and one point adrift of Punjab Kings.
