Iran Responds Defiantly After Failed US Negotiations

Iran has taken a strong stance following the unsuccessful high-stakes negotiations with the United States in Islamabad. The Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson criticized Washington, accusing it of "breaches of promise" and "excessive demands."

Iran’s Diplomatic Stance

In a post shared on X, spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei emphasized that for Iran, diplomacy represents “the continuation of the sacred jihad.” Baqaei stated that Iran would not forget the "heinous crimes" committed during the longstanding conflict with the US. The discussions, mediated by Pakistan, ended without any agreement, with Iranian media confirming no breakthrough was achieved.

Commitment to National Interests

During an intense negotiation session that lasted throughout Saturday, Baqaei noted that the Iranian delegation engaged in extensive discussions with their US counterparts. He highlighted their commitment to protecting Iran’s rights and interests. Baqaei stated, "The heavy loss of our great ones has made our resolve firmer than ever," asserting that nothing would deter Iran from its mission regarding its homeland and civilization.

Despite the setbacks, he reiterated Iran’s commitment to utilizing all available diplomatic channels to achieve its objectives. Baqaei stressed that any potential progress would depend significantly on the "seriousness and good faith of the opposing side."

"The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement," Vance commented, reiterating that Washington made its "red lines" clear.
