Overall, the two new franchises generated a total of approximately $12.75 million (around INR 114 crore).
Upcoming Changes for Multan Sultans
Multan Sultans will be managed by the Pakistan Cricket Board for the upcoming season before being put up for sale after the PSL concludes in April. Former owner Ali Tareen, who had public disputes with PSL management, opted out of the bidding process, which had ten approved bidders.
Akram’s Views on League Duration
Amid discussions about league durations, Akram recently praised the PSL’s shorter timeline. He remarked, “The best thing about the league is that it lasts about 34-35 days. Unlike other leagues that stretch over three months, it keeps foreign players engaged and prevents them from getting bored.” He cited Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) as a successful example of shorter leagues, noting that BBL adapted its duration based on feedback.
