Reports from Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) indicated that the strikes affected regions located far from the Israeli border, including southern Lebanon and the eastern Bekaa Valley, where Hezbollah maintains a significant presence. Thankfully, no casualties were reported immediately after the incidents.

Context of the Strikes

These air strikes occurred despite a ceasefire that had ended months of intense conflict in November 2024, following over a year of hostilities between the two sides. Under the terms of this ceasefire, Hezbollah was expected to withdraw its forces north of the Litani River, approximately 30 kilometers from the Israeli border, and dismantle its military infrastructure in the area.

Despite the ceasefire, Israel has persisted in its military operations within Lebanon, arguing that such actions are necessary to target Hezbollah sites suspected of rearming.
