As a junior developer, you’ll be responsible for building the majority of the user-facing application. You will work from detailed specifications and adhere to patterns established by senior team members. Utilizing AI coding tools is integral to your workflow.
This is a dynamic environment where you will encounter shifting priorities as the product evolves based on user feedback. We value someone who perceives this as an inherent part of the development process.
A Unique Junior Developer Experience
Unlike joining a large engineering team where your contributions may be limited to minor tasks, here you will collaborate closely with both the senior developer and the CTO, who are hands-on contributors. Expect genuine code reviews, architectural discussions, and real mentorship. The product is currently under development, with pilot clients set to come on board in a matter of months. Your code will be deployed to actual users rapidly.
What You’ll Do
Develop the full user-facing web application, which includes dashboards, reports, settings, and onboarding features.
Create admin views for user management, configuration, and aggregate data.
Implement supporting systems like notifications, emails, and exports.
Write tests for defined error scenarios to ensure reliability.
Collaborate on database schema design with the senior developer and CTO.
Engage in daily syncs with the senior developer and participate in pull request reviews for every merge.
Required Qualifications
1–3 years of professional development experience (internships and freelance roles included).
Proficiency in React (or Next.js) for the frontend and Python for the backend (FastAPI experience is a strong plus).
Basic knowledge of PostgreSQL: capable of writing queries, understanding joins, and contributing to schema design.
Familiar with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, integrating them into daily tasks.
Able to interpret specifications and deliver features independently.
Comfortable adapting to shifting priorities.
Proactive in seeking clarification when unsure, instead of relying on guesswork.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with FastAPI.
Knowledge of Tailwind CSS and responsive design.
Understanding of authentication flows (OAuth, JWT).
Familiarity with dashboard or report-style interfaces.
A portfolio or GitHub showcasing completed end-to-end projects.
