Enforcement Directorate Raids Influencer Anurag Dwivedi in Money Laundering Case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted fresh searches linked to social media influencer Anurag Dwivedi, known as the “Face of Fantasy Cricket,” amidst allegations of money laundering associated with illegal online betting activities.

    Locations Raided

On January 1, the ED executed searches across nine locations in various cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Lucknow, and Varanasi. These operations resulted in the confiscation of high-value vehicles, including a Land Rover Defender and a BMW Z4, both registered under Dwivedi’s name.

    Background of the Investigation

This recent action follows a previous round of searches conducted in the third week of December, where the agency seized several vehicles such as a Lamborghini Urus, Mercedes, Ford Endeavour, and Thar, alongside ₹20 lakh in cash. The investigations are part of a broader money laundering inquiry initiated under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act based on an FIR filed by the West Bengal Police.

    Allegations Against Anurag Dwivedi

The ED claims that Dwivedi has been involved in promoting illegal betting platforms operating from Siliguri, West Bengal. It’s alleged that he received “proceeds of crime” via hawala transactions and mule accounts and has allegedly invested in real estate in Dubai using these funds.

    Assets and Financial Seizures

During the recent searches, the agency uncovered substantial assets, including fixed deposits, insurance policies, and bank deposits valued at approximately ₹3 crore. So far, three individuals have been arrested in connection with this case, and a chargesheet was filed in a special PMLA court in Kolkata in August 2025. The ED has also frozen or attached assets worth ₹27 crore related to this investigation.

    Current Status of Anurag Dwivedi

Dwivedi, who is reportedly residing in Dubai, has not complied with multiple summons issued by the ED, which has led to increased scrutiny and ongoing investigations into his activities and affiliations with illegal betting networks.
