We are an AI-driven Hospitality Tech platform that helps vacation rental owners automate their revenue on Booking.com.
Unlike many “early-stage” startups, we have already reached £100k ARR, experiencing consistent month-on-month growth backed by angel investors. With a product customers love and a validated business model, we are now poised to expand to Airbnb and Expedia.
We are a lean team of two founders seeking a Founding Engineer. You will serve as the technical lead, collaborating with us to brainstorm concepts, architecture, and rapidly deploy code.
The Role
This is primarily a Backend-First role (70/30 split). Most of your work will be in Python/Django, but you should also be willing to dive into React/Tailwind to complete features.
Key responsibilities include:
- Scalability: Develop and implement features using Python (Django) and Postgres.
- High-Volume Data: Manage enterprise-level scraping (1,000s of requests per second) and reverse-engineering public data sources.
- Chrome Extension: Maintain and enhance our extension that links our platform with customer accounts.
- Rapid Deployment: Utilize ChatGPT/Copilot to expedite boilerplate code so that you can focus on complex logic.
- Frontend Tasks: Light work in React/Tailwind when needed; expertise in frontend is not a requirement.
Logistics
One founder is based in Leeds, while the other is in London. We aim to meet occasionally for brainstorming sessions and onboarding.
Salary: £70k – £90k (based on experience)

Who You Are
- A Builder: You have startup experience (founder or early employee) and prioritize problem-solving over mere coding.
- Python Expert: You possess extensive experience with Python.
- Data Scraper: You understand web scraping, proxies, and browser automation (Playwright).
- Pragmatic: You know when to develop for scalability and when to implement quick fixes for immediate issues.
- Independent: You prefer taking responsibility and dislike micromanagement, thriving on transforming ideas into deployed solutions.
