In a touching post on X, PM Modi stated, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Asha Bhosle Ji, one of the most iconic and versatile voices India has ever known. Her extraordinary musical journey, spanning decades, enriched our cultural heritage and touched countless hearts across the world. Final Farewell Plans
Asha Bhosle’s son, Anand Bhosle, announced the news of her passing, inviting those who wish to pay their last respects to visit her residence. He noted, “She passed away today. Those who wish to pay their last respects can visit her residence tomorrow at 11 am. The last rites will be performed tomorrow at 4 pm at Shivaji Park."
Cause of Death
According to medical reports, Asha Bhosle succumbed to multiple organ failure. Dr. Pratit Samdani, who was attending to her, confirmed, “She passed away due to multi-organ failure a few minutes ago.”
The legendary singer had been hospitalized at Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday evening due to a chest infection and exhaustion, as revealed by her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle.
A Career Spanning Decades
The last rites for the veteran artist will be conducted on Monday with full state honors at Shivaji Park. Asha Bhosle was one of India’s most celebrated playback singers; her illustrious career began in 1943, and she has remained a pivotal figure in the Indian film music industry, representing the last of the living legends.
