Inspiring Stories from the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar

Celebrating Young Achievers

In a heartwarming ceremony held on Veer Bal Diwas, President Droupadi Murmu honored 20 exceptional children with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar. These awards recognize remarkable achievements in various fields including bravery, social service, environmental efforts, sports, and arts across 18 states.

Heartfelt Acts of Service

One standout story is of Shavan Singh, an 11-year-old from Punjab who made immense contributions during Operation Sindoor. Amidst the challenges faced by soldiers near his home, Shavan regularly delivered water, milk, and lassi to those stationed at the border. When asked if he was scared, he confidently replied "bilkul nahin" (not at all) and expressed his desire to join the Army one day.

Bravery Amidst Adversity

Another inspiring young awardee is Vansh Tayal from Chandigarh. Orphaned during the pandemic in 2021, Vansh has turned his personal challenges into a source of strength. Living in a childcare institution, he has taken it upon himself to care for a six-year-old abandoned child with disabilities, showcasing remarkable empathy and resilience. Now in Class 12, he aspires to become a psychologist.

Recognition of Valor

Highlighting acts of heroism, President Murmu praised young achievers like Ajay Raj, a nine-year-old from Agra who bravely saved his father during a crocodile attack. Similarly, Mohammed Sidan P, an 11-year-old from Kerala, rescued two friends from electrocution. Tragically, young heroes Vyoma Priya (9) from Coimbatore and Kamlesh Kumar (11) from Kaimur lost their lives while attempting to save others.

Acknowledging Sports and Excellence

President Murmu also commended Shivani Hosuru Uppara, a differently-abled sportsperson, for overcoming significant economic and physical challenges to make her mark in sports. Another notable mention is Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Samastipur, who has gained recognition in cricket.

Conclusion

The stories of these young laureates are a testament to resilience, courage, and the indomitable spirit of youth. Their achievements inspire not only their peers but also the entire nation, showcasing the remarkable potential of India’s future generation.
