Filmmaker Priyadarshan has addressed the controversy surrounding his “education” remark about Rajpal Yadav, clarifying that his comment was misunderstood and was never meant to question the actor’s academic background. The remark had sparked debate earlier, especially at a time when Rajpal Yadav was in the news for his Rs 9 crore cheque-bounce case and legal troubles.

    Priyadarshan Clarifies Controversial Remarks

Filmmaker Priyadarshan has recently addressed a controversial remark regarding actor Rajpal Yadav. He emphasized that his comment about Yadav’s “education” was misconstrued and was never intended to diminish the actor’s academic credentials. This controversy erupted at a time when Yadav was facing legal issues related to a Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case.

    ‘It Was a Misunderstanding’

In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Priyadarshan explained, “No, not at all. In fact, we spoke about it recently. It was a slight misunderstanding.” He elaborated on his original statement, clarifying that he was referring to a “village education,” which signifies exposure rather than formal schooling. He pointed out the contrasting experiences between those raised in villages and those from metro cities.

‘It’s About Life Experience, Not Degrees’

Priyadarshan further unpacked his comment, explaining that it stemmed from different backgrounds. He remarked, “People from villages are often more innocent and trusting because they grow up in an environment where everyone helps each other.” In contrast, he noted that city dwellers are typically more aware of their surroundings, encountering a wider array of life experiences from an early age. “My observation is not about academics,” he stated, “I was talking about life experiences obtained from one’s environment.”

    ‘He Understood It Completely’

Assuring fans and critics alike, Priyadarshan confirmed that there is no lingering animosity between him and Rajpal Yadav. “Yes, he understood it completely. He was never hurt or worried about it.” Both have collaborated on several successful projects, and their upcoming film, *Bhooth Bangla*, featuring Akshay Kumar, has recently had a change in its release date—from April 10 to April 17.
