He recalled, “When I shared that I have taken up farming, went bankrupt… people would comment on my choice of transport, saying, ‘Bechara, he can’t afford a car, he is taking an auto’. Now, when they see me taking an auto after working so hard, they call me ‘down to earth’.”

Rajesh clarified that his decision to sell his car was not due to financial constraints, but rather a preference for convenience amidst Mumbai’s notorious traffic. “I sold my car because of traffic. I prefer local transport, like Ola or Uber,” he stated. The actor shared that he doesn’t mind being recognized while using public transport, including the metro, a sign of his acceptance. “That’s not a problem. People come up to you, talk to you, take pictures. That’s the perk of your job,” he said.
Support from Family and Future Ventures
In a separate conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Rajesh revealed that family support played a crucial role in his recovery. His sisters joined him in his agricultural pursuits, helping him refocus on his career. “For my 50th birthday, my elder sister resigned from her job in America and moved to India to help me. Because of her, my younger sister also decided to join us,” he explained.

After gaining fame, he faced severe setbacks due to his farming venture, even selling vegetables outside his son’s school to make ends meet.
