Role Overview: Aerospace Product Manager
The Aerospace Product Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the SGS North America ANAB Accredited Aerospace program. This position ensures compliance with AS9104 and ISO 17021 standards while overseeing AS auditing activities and supporting aerospace business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership: Lead the North America Aerospace Program, ensuring the quality of services meets specific business requirements. Manage technical KPIs and accreditation standards effectively.
Client Services Enhancement: Collaborate with the NAM Business Teams to improve customer services, preemptively resolve certification conflicts, and enhance internal and external processes for increased efficiency.
Auditing Responsibilities: Conduct AS9100 and AS9120 audits as a Lead Auditor, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Market and Business Development Support: Assist the NAM business team with market trends, create technical content like white papers, and represent SGS at key events such as webinars and conferences.
Compliance and Monitoring: Review IAQG Resolutions, monitor audit package turnaround times, and oversee all Aerospace client NCR submissions prior to certification decisions.
- Training and Guidance: Offer direction and support to AS auditors on program changes, and conduct training on AS Product requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Certification: Must be a certified Aerospace Industry Experienced Lead Auditor for AS9100 and AS9120.
- Industry Experience: Direct involvement in Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, or Process Control for a major airframe manufacturer or an equivalent organization.
Skills and Abilities
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of client and business needs.
- Project Management: Capability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic professional environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Time Management: Proven skills in managing time effectively and handling pressure.
Travel Requirements
Travel for this position is anticipated to be between 30% and 50%.
