Position Overview: Brand Design Manager
The Brand Design Manager, reporting to the Executive Creative Director, plays a pivotal role in visual storytelling and creative execution across Later’s marketing campaigns. This position focuses on enhancing brand recognition and fostering engagement through innovative design solutions. The manager will oversee the visual identity of key marketing initiatives, establishing creative standards that resonate with enterprise B2C brand and agency audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Oversee art direction and visual execution for major product launches and multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Develop creative concepts and visual strategies aligning with business objectives.
- Collaborate with the Creative Director to evolve Later’s visual brand identity.
- Present creative concepts to executive stakeholders and incorporate feedback.
Technical Execution
- Create compelling visual assets for various marketing channels including websites, email campaigns, and social media.
- Develop templates and design systems for scalable production.
- Ensure all creative output meets brand standards and delivers an exceptional user experience.
- Stay updated on design trends and platform-specific best practices.
Team Collaboration
- Manage a team of brand designers, offering mentorship and professional development.
- Establish high-quality standards for design execution and workflows.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and goal-setting sessions.
- Encourage a collaborative creative environment to foster innovation.
Leadership
- Ensure consistent application of Later’s brand identity across all marketing channels.
- Push creative boundaries while maintaining brand integrity.
- Create compelling case studies showcasing Later’s capabilities.
Research and Best Practices
- Utilize data to evaluate creative performance and inform design decisions.
- Analyze metrics to identify successful design approaches and areas for improvement.
- Iterate on creative based on data and user feedback.
Success Metrics

- Scalable design systems leading to increased team efficiency.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in art direction or visual design, with at least 3 years in management roles.
- Proven track record in leading and developing design teams.
- Diverse portfolio showcasing art direction and visual storytelling.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and design tools.
- Deep understanding of design principles and trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
We implement a market-based and data-driven approach to compensation, evaluating performance and market factors bi-annually. We share salary ranges transparently in all job postings, with final offers based on individual skills and experience. Additionally, permanent team members are eligible for various benefits as part of their compensation package.
Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000
Work Environment
Later has offices in Boston, MA; Vancouver, BC; Chicago, IL; and Vancouver, WA. We welcome remote candidates for select positions and advertise openings where successful candidates can be located.
