About the Role

WISEcode is at the forefront of the food technology revolution. We are developing the world’s most comprehensive food data platform, mapping 15,000 data points per product to create a scientific logic engine that amplifies understanding of food.

At the heart of this system is the Code Library—a continually expanding set of computational models that transforms raw ingredients and nutrients into structured intelligence. As an Applied Computational Nutrition Scientist, your role will focus on model building. You’ll utilize our proprietary Code Builder to explore structures, refine assumptions, and optimize the system we call the “Bloomberg for Food.”

This position represents a pivotal transformation in food science, moving from traditional hand-offs between scientists and engineers to an interactive modeling loop. Reporting directly to the VP of Science, you will play a critical part in this innovation.

What You’ll Do

• Scientific Modeling: Design, build, and iterate nutrition codes in our AI-based platform, managing the entire interactive modeling loop: Hypothesis → Build → Evaluate → Refine.
• Logic Architecture: Convert raw food data into structured intelligence by exploring model structures and refining scoring assumptions.
• Library Governance: Maintain the integrity of the Code Library, ensuring each model is consistent across products and serves as the “ground truth” for our AI systems.
• Iterative Experimentation: Test model variations and analyze AI-generated structures for accuracy and relevance in real-world applications.
• Partner Ecosystems: Lead collaborative sessions with external partners to create shared modeling frameworks.
• Product Translation: Collaborate with the Product team to document the scientific logic of our “Intelligence Layer,” making it accessible for high-impact consumer narratives.

What We’re Looking For

Requirements

• Domain Expertise: BS or MS in Nutrition, Food Science, or a related field, with comprehensive ingredient and food processing knowledge.
• Technical Experience: 2–3 years in a technical, analytical, or data-driven role.
• Computational Modeling: Proficient in mathematics, structured logic, and quantitative decision-making.
• Platform Fluency: Experience working within a proprietary computational system, interpreting outputs, and refining system behavior.
• Project Coordination: Proven ability to organize and coordinate projects efficiently in a team environment.
• Facilitation & Communication: Excellent organizational skills with a collaborative and reliable communication style.
• Mindset: An inquisitive spirit who enjoys exploring edge cases and refining scientific assumptions through quick iterations.
