Overview of the Role
As a Solution Engineer, you will be instrumental in enhancing the growth and success of our GovCon solutions within the Government Contracting market. This role merges comprehensive GovCon domain expertise with technical and consultative skills to navigate complex contractor requirements, translate them into impactful product demonstrations, and collaborate closely with Sales and Product teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Solution Engineering for GovCon Opportunities
You will spearhead and participate in the complete solution engineering process for GovCon opportunities. Your responsibilities include shaping the demonstration strategy and influencing deal direction by aligning customer challenges with Unanet’s product vision and roadmap.
Develop and Customize Demo Environments
Create tailored GovCon demo environments that reflect realistic contracting scenarios—including contract types, indirect rate structures, and compliance reporting. Showcase relevant product functionality that illustrates value for government contractors.
Create Reusable Demo Assets
Develop scalable, high-quality collateral such as flows, scripts, and configuration patterns. Mentor team members in building scripts and tools, while introducing innovative approaches that utilize AI and technology to amplify demo impact.
Track Key Metrics
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators for GovCon pursuits, including demo effectiveness and follow-up requirements. Use insights to refine messaging and approach continually.
Collaborate Across Functions
Serve as a cross-functional partner for the GovCon segment, working closely with Sales Enablement, Product, Marketing, and Sales Ops to create and maintain impactful GovCon-focused enablement assets.
Strategic Analysis and Client Engagement
Analyze GovCon Patterns
Examine trends across GovCon prospects and clients to distinguish between product gaps and configuration opportunities. Help teams identify roadmap needs versus implementation guidance.
Conduct Discovery Sessions
Engage in discovery sessions with GovCon prospects to understand their unique contract portfolios and compliance requirements. Ensure our solutions align with both business and regulatory needs.
Develop Tailored Proposals
Craft client-specific proposals, business cases, and ROI models that quantify the benefits of adopting Unanet’s GovCon solutions.
Representing the GovCon Voice
Act as a Subject Matter Expert
Serve as a resident GovCon expert, sharing best practices and trends with Sales, Customer Success, and Product teams. Represent the customer voice in product discussions and help shape future features.
Embrace AI and Data-Driven Excellence
Own the creation and maintenance of AI-enabled demo assets. Partner with Product teams to inform market trends and customer insights, continuously improving win rates and demo effectiveness.
Who You Are
Experience and Expertise
- 3+ years in presales, software consulting, or closely related roles, preferably with the Unanet GovCon ERP product or similar.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert in the GovCon space, capable of addressing complex challenges with minimal guidance.
- Proven track record in improving organizational processes and implementing scalable best practices.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong ability to translate GovCon business and compliance requirements into clear solutions, demos, and proposals.
- Comfortable with new AI workflows and technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant practical experience.
Travel Requirements
Willingness to travel up to 10% for key customer meetings, events, and internal collaborations.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $112,500 per year. You will also be eligible to earn commissions and participate in Unanet’s employee benefits plans. For more information, please visit our benefits page.
