The Role of Staff Product Analyst

Deepgram is seeking a Staff Product Analyst to spearhead our transition from a specialized transcription company to a comprehensive voice AI platform. As the inaugural product analyst, you will report to the VP of Product and work closely with product managers and designers. Your focus will be on building the measurement infrastructure and experimentation frameworks essential for scaling our self-serve and product adoption strategies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Analytics Strategy: Own the analytics strategy for self-serve growth by designing experiments and building measurement infrastructure to enhance conversion from signup to API/SDK requests.

    • Data Management: Create robust analytics pipelines and dashboards utilizing Superset and Heap Analytics.

    • Collaboration: Partner with product managers and designers to define success metrics and instrument our products accurately.

    • Experimentation: Design and analyze experiments to identify API/SDK adoption patterns and enhance the developer journey.

    • Holistic Analytics View: Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to integrate product usage signals with acquisition and sales outcomes.

    • Pattern Recognition: Identify high-value use cases and customer segments through product usage analysis.

    • Insight Synthesis: Serve as the analytical partner to product leadership, synthesizing insights to inform long-term strategies.

    • Establish Best Practices: Create frameworks that support effective experimentation and analysis as the team expands.

    • Actionable Recommendations: Translate complex data findings into strategic recommendations for product and investment decisions.

    Ideal Candidate Profile

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

    • Possess strong leadership skills to define product analytics standards at Deepgram.

    • Are energized by building systems from scratch and establishing foundational practices.

    • Can navigate deep analytical work while recognizing strategic patterns across our product portfolio.

    • Have a solid understanding of experimentation methodologies and PLG measurement.

    • Are comfortable thriving in ambiguity and can ask the right questions.

    • Demonstrate empathy for customers and curiosity to explore new tools and workflows for analytics efficiency.

    Essential Qualifications

    We require candidates to have:

    • Staff-level expertise in product analytics, with a solid track record of leading analytics strategies.

    • Proven experience accelerating self-serve or PLG growth in a previous role, especially in developer-focused products.

    • Strong SQL skills and ability to work directly with data warehouses without needing a data engineering team.

    • Experience designing and analyzing experiments with statistical rigor.

    • Knowledge of developer behaviors and API/SDK usage signals.

    Desirable Experience

While not mandatory, the following would be beneficial:

    • Familiarity with Superset, Heap Analytics, or alternatives like Mixpanel and Amplitude.

    • A background in B2B SaaS, particularly with self-serve and enterprise business models.

    • Understanding multi-product dynamics and methods to measure cross-product patterns.
