    The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) plays a critical role in guiding technology teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure platforms and services. This position empowers SS&C’s business units to innovate confidently, accelerate application modernization, and effectively manage technical debt. Strong collaboration among product, engineering, and operations teams is vital to embed reliability, automation, and compliance into our products.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborative Platform Development: Partner with Technology Infrastructure teams to build and operate reusable, cloud-native platforms, ensuring reliability from design to operations.
    • Application Optimization: Work with business units and technical teams to enhance application availability, observability, and reliability as they migrate to a Private Cloud.
    • Reliability Enhancement: Improve platform reliability through automated problem detection, self-healing systems, and sound notification protocols.
    • Metrics-Driven Improvement: Utilize SLOs, SLIs, and KPIs to prioritize initiatives, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Culture of Ownership: Foster an environment of positive thinking and continuous learning, grounding efforts in practicality, experimentation, and engineering excellence.

    Qualifications

    Technical Expertise

    • Proven experience in architecting and operating private cloud environments (e.g., VMware, OpenStack, OpenShift) and Kubernetes clusters.
    • Hands-on expertise in building, deploying, and managing infrastructure as code platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Splunk).
    • Strong knowledge of systems reliability standards, including establishing KPIs and monitoring SLAs.
    • Experience with financial-grade network segmentation and zero-trust architecture.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are advantageous.

    • Outstanding organizational and project management skills with a focus on effective decision-making and problem-solving.
    • A continuous learner and tenacious problem solver, adaptable to new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage stakeholders effectively.
    • Ability to establish credibility with technical stakeholders, including executives and engineering teams.
    • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed.
