Role Overview: Manager, Salesforce Engineering

As the Manager of Salesforce Engineering, you’ll lead a team of dedicated developers and administrators. Your role will involve delivering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem. You’ll leverage your technical expertise and strategic vision to drive platform excellence, foster team growth, and create significant business impact.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Mentor and develop Salesforce engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and career planning sessions.
• Advocate team priorities within the wider engineering and product organization.
• Recruit and maintain top Salesforce talent.
• Foster an environment of high trust and inclusivity.

Technical Delivery & Innovation

• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of Salesforce initiatives, ensuring quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Enforce development standards and best practices in code quality and deployment.
• Stay abreast of Salesforce platform trends and releases.
• Drive innovation through the adoption of new tools, features, and integrations.
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

Architecture & Development

• Design and implement scalable solutions across various Salesforce Clouds.
• Develop Lighting Web Components and dynamic forms.
• Utilize secure programming practices to safeguard against vulnerabilities.
• Optimize existing features for improved performance and maintainability.
• Implement robust monitoring and alerting for deployed solutions.

Integration & Data Collaboration

• Design inbound/outbound integrations using Salesforce APIs and middleware tools.
• Collaborate with teams on data modeling and access issues.
• Support functional and non-functional testing to ensure quality delivery.

Collaboration & Agile Execution

• Work alongside Product Owners to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and standups.
• Contribute to design discussions and code reviews while supporting cross-team dependencies.

Qualifications for Success

Experience

• 5+ years in technical leadership and people management.
• 7–8 years of hands-on Salesforce development and administration.
• Proven expertise in:
  • Apex, LWC, Aura, SOQL/SOSL
  • Salesforce security models and best practices
  • Agile methodologies and CI/CD environments

Skills & Abilities

• Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation, collaboration, and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
• A self-motivated learner with a systems-oriented approach.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field.
• Salesforce Certified Admin, Advanced Admin, Platform Developer I & II required.
