A 25-year-old Russian flight attendant, identified as Anastasia, was discovered dead in a five-star hotel in Dubai. She suffered at least 15 stab wounds inflicted with a pair of scissors by her jealous ex-husband, who suspected her of providing escort services.
Arrest of the Suspected Killer
The ex-husband, 41-year-old Albert Morgan, also a Russian national, was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after his flight landed in St. Petersburg. This followed the gruesome discovery of Anastasia’s body at the luxurious Voco Bonnington hotel in Dubai last week.
The Stalking Incident
Reports indicate that Morgan, a legal consultant, stalked his ex-wife to Dubai, convinced she was working as a high-end escort during their marriage. He allegedly disguised himself as a hotel guest, wearing a robe stolen from the laundry room, and convinced a maid to let him into her room.
Planned Assault Escalates
Initially, Morgan intended to douse Anastasia in green paint and cut off her hair with the scissors. However, upon arrival, a confrontation ensued, leading to Anastasia’s murder. After two years of marriage, the couple separated, but Morgan’s jealousy drove him to invade her privacy, leading him to this tragic confrontation.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Dubai authorities identified Morgan as the prime suspect through security footage, informing Russian law enforcement who arrested him upon his return to St. Petersburg.
Controversial Requests in Custody
Upon his arrest, Morgan reportedly requested to be sent to Ukraine to fight for Russia. This is not his first encounter with the law; he previously served seven years in prison for drug-related charges and had to change his name to escape his past. Despite their tumultuous relationship, Anastasia had withdrawn all previous complaints against him, according to local media reports.
