Saudi Arabia Launches Helpline for Visa Queries

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports has established a unified helpline specifically for visa holders to resolve inquiries regarding their visa status. This comes as a critical relief measure for those with expired visas, approaching the final compliance deadline.

Unified Helpline Number for Visa-Related Queries

Individuals seeking clarity on their visa statuses can now contact the unified helpline number 992.

This helpline covers inquiries related to:

    • All types of visit visas
    • Umrah visas
    • Transit visas
    • Final exit visas

This service is particularly for cases where visas expired as of February 25, 2026, providing essential guidance on next steps.

    Relief Measures for Stranded Visitors

This initiative follows earlier directives from the Ministry of Interior, authorized by Saudi leadership, aimed at assisting visa holders who cannot leave the Kingdom due to ongoing regional challenges. To support these individuals, authorities have started addressing the status of various visa types.

    Extension Window and Exit Flexibility

Under previous directives, all types of visit visas—including Umrah, transit, and final exit visas—that expired by February 25, 2026 qualify for an extension. Hosts can request these extensions via the Absher platform by paying the requisite fees, with the application window open until April 18, 2026.

Additionally, eligible visa holders have the option to depart the Kingdom directly through international exit points without extending their visas, avoiding any fees or late penalties. This provision allows for immediate exit with ease.

    Deadline Approaches for Compliance

Authorities have stressed the importance of acting before April 18, 2026. Beneficiaries must either complete the extension process through official channels or exit the Kingdom within the given timeframe. Non-compliance will lead to enforcement actions against violators.

The newly established helpline aims to streamline communication, ensuring affected individuals can easily resolve their queries as the deadline approaches.
