About the Senior Software Engineer Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is eager to take ownership of problem spaces rather than merely completing tasks. You’ll be assigned areas, such as “bank reconciliation for legacy ERP customers,” where your mission will be to identify what to build, how to build it, and ultimately, to ship it. Your technical decisions will set precedents and shape the future systems for engineers who follow.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in an environment of ambiguity. We won’t provide you with extensive specifications; instead, we will share user problems and the knowledge we possess, trusting you to devise a solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Own problem spaces end-to-end, from understanding user needs to shipping effective solutions.
• Make critical technical decisions, including pattern selection, establishing architectural direction, and building sustainable systems.
• Work independently with minimal oversight, proactively identifying what to build next.
• Ship features frequently and iterate based on real user data rather than theoretical perfection.
• Communicate your decisions and progress clearly in writing, collaborating asynchronously with the team.

Technical Requirements

• Strong backend fundamentals; experience in building and shipping production systems.
• Experience with data integration via APIs, webhooks, file ingestion, ETL, or similar methods.
• Proficient in SQL and relational database management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, LangGraph).
• Experience with graph databases or complex data modeling techniques.
• Prior experience in an early-stage startup environment.
• Knowledge in LLM/agent operations, including tool-use patterns, agents that call APIs, and document processing.
• Hands-on experience with production agent operations (e.g., evaluations, tracing, observability).

• Golang (backend – Go monolith architecture)
• Vue/Nuxt (dedicated SSR frontend with a focus on backend development)
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and PostgreSQL
• Agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph)

We prioritize your ability and eagerness to learn over prior knowledge of our specific tech stack.

Success Metrics After 90 Days

In your first 90 days, you will have:

• Shipped multiple production features.
• Started independently identifying future project priorities.
• Implemented technical improvements that elevated the product.
• Earned the trust to manage a workstream autonomously.
• Established at least one coding pattern or practice that enhances the codebase.
