The passing of legendary singer Asha Bhosle has left the music industry in profound mourning. Music director Shamir Tandon recently reflected on his close bond with the iconic artist, sharing memorable moments from their final collaboration.

A Deep Emotional Connection

Shamir Tandon expressed, “My journey with Aai started in 2003 when she sang a song of mine for the film Page 3, which won a National Award.” Tandon reminisced about one of Asha’s last Hindi songs, “Jaane Do, Jaane Do, Khud Se Milna Hai, Jaane Do.” He revealed that she deeply resonated with those lyrics, saying, “She would say that now she wishes to go away peacefully and find herself again.”

‘Asha Tai nahi, meri Aai thi’

Speaking about their relationship, Tandon noted, “Asha Tai has always been like a mother to me. While the world referred to her as ‘Tai,’ I called her ‘Aai,’ which means mother in Marathi.” He cherished the long conversations they shared, highlighting Asha’s unique approach to music. “This loss is not just of India or our film industry. It’s a loss to the world, as she taught us all how vital innovation is in music.”

Final Rites and Tributes

Asha Bhosle passed away in Mumbai at the age of 92, following extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. Her son Anand Bhosle has shared details regarding her final rites, urging fans to respect their privacy during this time.

“Tomorrow, from 10:30 AM to 2 PM, people can come for the last darshan of my mother at Casa Grande building. At 4 PM, her last rites will be performed at the crematorium. I request people not to gather there, as there are chances of overcrowding,” he stated.
