Tragic Accident in Agra Village

AGRA: A devastating incident occurred in Vijkauli village, Agra, where two individuals lost their lives and five others sustained serious injuries after a basement wall of an under-construction house collapsed on Sunday morning.

Details of the Incident

Jodh Singh was in the process of constructing his house, which included a basement. The floor of the basement had been compacted with a layer of soil that was moistened with water. On that fateful morning, some villagers gathered around a bonfire near the newly constructed wall when it suddenly gave way, burying them under the rubble.

Immediate Response and Casualties

Upon hearing their cries for help, other villagers quickly rushed to the scene. The injured were subsequently pulled from the debris and transported to the Bah community health centre, as stated by SHO Satyasev Sharma. In total, seven people were injured, with Hiralal Yadav (65) and Yogesh Yadav (45) unfortunately succumbing to their injuries in the hospital.

Current Condition of the Injured

Meanwhile, Ramendra Singh (58), Sunil Kumar (38), Bhore Lal, Kallu (32), and Uttam Prajapati (45) were admitted to various hospitals in Agra but are reported to be stable and out of danger, according to police reports.

Official Statement

DCP (Agra East) Abhishek Agrawal noted, “We have not yet received any complaints from the families of the deceased or the injured.”
