“While our monthly allowances from our parents stayed the same, our spending needs naturally evolved,” Al Awadhi explained to Khaleej Times. This realization fueled his motivation to create a platform that would make student life more affordable.

Two years after its inception, SmartPocket launched to the public in October 2025. The app offers students access to discounts from over 20 partner brands across various categories, significantly enhancing their buying power.
