LUCKNOW: Recent dense fog in Uttar Pradesh has led to a series of tragic accidents, claiming the lives of nine individuals across different districts. The incidents occurred due to significantly reduced visibility, particularly affecting the regions of Sultanpur, Kanpur, and Bijnor.
Sultanpur District: A Speeding MUV Collision
In Sultanpur, a speeding multi-utility vehicle (MUV) was transporting 11 people from Lucknow to Azamgarh when it collided with a broken-down truck loaded with cattle on the Purvanchal Expressway. The unfortunate accident resulted in the immediate deaths of Sikander Khan (27) and Shambhu Lal (55). Tragically, Shambhu’s son, Surendra Lal (28), later succumbed to his injuries at the Dostpur community health center.
Kanpur District: Motorcycle Collision Claims Young Lives
In a separate incident in Kanpur, two motorcycles collided head-on late on Sunday night. The crash resulted in the deaths of Ritik Chaturvedi (17) and Raunak, known as Bobby (16), who were on their way home after an outing.

A harrowing incident in Bijnor’s Nangalsoti area involved a high-speed SUV crashing into a stationary dumper truck. This tragic accident occurred under near-zero visibility conditions, resulting in the deaths of four men returning home from their travels on the same day.
