    Who We’re Looking For

    This is not a conventional Sales role. If you’re seeking a typical account executive position, this opportunity may not be for you.

    We seek individuals who are:

    • Technically Proficient: You should be capable of assisting customers directly without defaulting to a sales engineer.
    • Insightful: Recognizing which inbound leads to prioritize is crucial to maximizing impact.
    • Relationship Builders: You will sustain long-term customer relationships and introduce new products as they become available, instead of transferring accounts to customer success.

    Your Responsibilities

    As a Technical Account Manager, you’ll manage an existing portfolio of engaged customers who generate significant revenue. Key tasks include:

    • Collecting Customer Feedback: Engage directly with product teams to ensure customer insights are utilized for improvement.
    • Hyper-Responsive Communication: Actively engage with customers, primarily via Slack, to foster strong relationships.
    • Product Knowledge: You must be an expert across all PostHog products to effectively demonstrate value and encourage adoption.

    This role is ideal for former account executives or sales engineers eager to transition into a more relationship-focused position.

    What You Won’t Be Doing

    ❌ You won’t need to involve others in most customer meetings; it’ll typically be just you and the customer. Occasionally, you may bring a product engineer along for specialized situations.

    ❌ Automating everything is not an option; this role emphasizes building meaningful customer relationships over relying on automation.

    Requirements

    • Deep Product Knowledge: Familiarity with PostHog’s technical products like Feature Flags and Data Warehouse is necessary.
    • Commercial Mindset: You’re enthusiastic about revenue growth and creative in engaging customers.
    • Customer-Centric Approach: Helping users achieve their goals and remove barriers to using PostHog effectively is paramount.

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with developer tools, particularly in product analytics, session replay, feature flags, or data pipelines.
    • Experience managing several customers in the $20k-100k+ ARR range.
