Four British Nationals Arrested at US-Canada Border

On April 3, four British nationals were taken into custody by the US Border Patrol for illegally entering the United States from Canada. The individuals, claiming to be hikers, insisted they were unaware of crossing the border. This incident, occurring in a remote area of Maine, has raised significant questions regarding their nationality and intent.

Charges Filed Against the Four Nationals

All four individuals have been charged with one count of Entry without Inspection, a misdemeanor that can result in up to six months of imprisonment and a maximum fine of $5,000. Despite the charges, they have pleaded not guilty.

Controversy Surrounding Their Nationality

The names of the arrested individuals—Ali Mohammed Ali Abdullah, Hameed Mohammed Nagi, Ibrahim Ayyub Khan, and Mohammed Sultan Saleh—sparked a heated online debate. None of these individuals are originally from Britain, leading commentator Drew Pavlou to voice concerns about national security: “Britain really needs to sort this issue out because the fact that these guys have British passports is an absolute catastrophe for national security in the West.”

GoPro Footage Contradicts Their Claims

Adding to the complexity of the situation, GoPro footage showed the four men celebrating their arrival in the US, contradicting their claims of being unaware of their location. In the video, Saleh confidently states, “I can confirm you are now on US soil.” Abdullah expressed disbelief, asking, “I’m on US soil?” as Saleh presented GPS coordinates confirming their location. “Now we are in the US,” Saleh remarked, celebrating their unexpected arrival.

How They Were Detected and Arrested

The group was spotted by two maple sugar workers heading into Canada, who found their behavior suspicious. The workers promptly alerted a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer. Subsequent investigations revealed that the four men were intended to be picked up by two additional individuals also seen on the Golden Road. Following leads provided by the maple workers, CBP officers apprehended both groups.

Evidence Found During the Investigation

During questioning, the men claimed ignorance about their illegal entry into the US. However, investigators discovered concerning evidence, including the incriminating GoPro footage and online searches performed by Saleh, such as “bangor from my location,” “boston from bangor,” and “new york from boston.” These findings raise further questions about the group’s intentions and the veracity of their claims.
